Its necessary to mention that instead of standard hotels, we have chosen for you private villas and Tuscan estates with amazing views to vineyards and picturesque valleys, where in the morning you can admire sunrise and in the evening orange-red sunset. Here you can always spend some time around swimming pool or just read a book at your terrace, in case you will have some free minute.

1 day |Wine Traveler’s Diary

Just after your breakfast alfresco, short introduction into the world of wines of Montalcino and Tuscany will be waiting for you. Before starting our wine tour we will explain to you basic classification of Italian wines, we will provide you all the information about the main characteristics of Brunello di Montalcino and other Tuscan wines, temperature, climate features, latest vintages and other interesting facts, so necessary for our “ wine experiment”.  After that we will follow to one of the historical wineries of Montalcino and we will start our first tasting with young Rosso di Montalcino and famous Brunello di Montalcino. W.B.

After tasting we will move to Montalcino, small town famous for wine Brunello di Montalcino. After a short walk and look at the town from the top of the 13^th century Fortress you will be offered lunch-tasting of typical Tuscan cuisine.

Second part of our day, we will continue making notes in our “Wine Traveler’s Diary” in one of the local wineries. Completting tasting program of the 1^st day we will stop at the beautiful Sant Antimo Abbey, which was built in 12^th century and is acting until these days. If you will be interested we can stay at mess of local monks’ and listen to Gregorian singing. Majestic Spartan atmosphere of abbey seems to be wrapped up by monk’s prayer and spirit.

Light dinner and week planning will complete our first day.

2^nd day |Wine Traveler’s Diary

This day we will start very early morning with ballooning. At 7:00 am English pilot, his team and balloon will be waiting us at starting point in and between green valleys. The flight lasts around one hour. You will slowly fly over the hills and vineyards of Val D’Orcia. You will need a scarf, warm sweater or jacket and for sure don’t forget your camera. Views that you can depict from the high of your balloon in the sky may compete just with painting of famous artists.

Second day in our diary will be commented with Pecorino cheese tastings. This cheese has long history and is produced in small town Pienza. Famous as “pecorino della Val d’Orcia” or “Caccio di Pienza”, this cheese is produced in season, starting from October till july, aged for at least 2 months before it comes in sale for a specific taste characteristics. You can find pecorino cheese aged 6 months, one year, two years and even older. You can mention big difference between all of them during tastings.

After cheese tasting we will have a short walk in Pienza, romantic cheese town, streets of which has similar romantic names as street of kiss, street of love and certainly street of fortune. Lunch in Tuscan style will complete morning of our second day.

Afternoon we will visit wine cellars of grand Franco Biondi Santi, mythical family- founder of Brunello di Montalcino. Evening of this informative day we will proceed in warm waters of thermal spring under the starry sky. After swim we will have light lunch.

3^rd  day |Wine Traveler’s Diary

Just after the breakfast we will drive to the real racing track, where dressed overall and helmet we will race with Go Karts. In case our group of friends is numerous ( 10-12 people) we will organize racing competition as Formula-1 one.

After racing we will have lunch at the winery, each plate will be accompanied with its own wine. Then we will get to know the process of olive oil production and we will taste different olive oil, get its characteristics and particulars.

In the evening after dinner we will listen to opera or ballet in magic abbey of 12^th century. Only once a year you can become participant of unbelievable performance between majestic columns of abbey. If you will be a lucky one all performance you will be accompanied with full moon and starry sky.

4^th  day |Wine Traveler’s Diary

Morning we will start with unhurried aristocrat breakfast under warm rays of sun. How and why? Everything is simple, after breakfast we will take a golf lesson. For the one who will  be playing golf first time I have to say that there is no more funny pastime as trying to reach hole. For the experienced golf players it is just a couple of hours of golf pleasure. After golf course and lunch we will visit one of the Monalcino wineries, where accept of Brunello wine we will taste grappa and sweet wines.

Dinner we will pass at one of the gorgeous places so we can discuss all your impressions of your trip and exchange notes for wine tastings.
